What is meadowfoam seed oil?

Meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba) is a small plant native to the Pacific coast of North America. In spring, its white flowers cover the fields like sea foam, which gave the plant its name. The oil is pressed from its seeds. It was first grown as a crop in the 1970s as a plant-based alternative to animal-derived oils, which makes it a natural fit for vegan skincare. Ours is organic, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
