Tahitian Pearl

INCI: Hydrolyzed Pearl

Naturally-Sourced/Derived Ingredient

What is Tahitian pearl?

Tahitian pearls are the dark, iridescent pearls grown by the black-lip pearl oyster (Pinctada margaritifera) in French Polynesia. Pearl has a long history in East Asian beauty rituals, where it was ground into a fine powder. For PERLE, the pearl is hydrolyzed: broken down into a water-soluble ingredient that brings amino acids and minerals to the formula.

How it looks and feels on skin

  • Amino acids and minerals help skin feel soft, smooth and supple.
  • Helps skin feel hydrated and comfortable through the day.
  • Helps the complexion look more even and luminous.
  • Gives PERLE its soft, luminous finish.

Is Tahitian pearl vegan?

No. Hydrolyzed pearl comes from a pearl oyster, so it is an animal-derived ingredient, and PERLE is not a vegan formula. PERLE is cruelty-free: FEY never tests on animals. The pearl comes to us as a ready-to-use solution of hydrolyzed pearl in water and glycerin, preserved with potassium sorbate and sorbic acid.
